AFRICA
Our plane touched down at 9:00 pm Nairobi time and we drove to with eyes wide trying to distinguish our new home in the dark. We were content to go to sleep after the long flight. Reality did not strike until the next morning. I arose around 6:00am at the Mayfield guesthouse (still trying to adjust my inner clock) and went outside to do devotions and watch the sun rise. Over the wall adjecent to the compound I heard a church service beginning. First the sound of swahili fellowship. Then quiet. Then the joyous english chorus "To God be the glory, great things he hath done..." echoes off the concrete walls and into my worshiping ears. It was 7:00am. Strange birds were singing to their creator as well. "Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!" I am in Africa. Reality came as a flash flood of sunshine. "Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, may the people rejoice.
